Many professional services firms and companies have begun to recruit new tax talent or are thinking of doing so in the New Year. They are looking to maximise opportunities during the economic rebound from the GFC and are finding that at all levels quality tax talent remains as scarce as ever.
"Top level tax professionals (A players) are still in high demand – most are more reluctant than ever to leave positions they regard as secure, last on, first off, thoughts run through their minds. Don’t make the mistake of assuming A players could currently be recruited at below market prices", he said.
Organisations looking for high quality tax professionals will find they will need to offer very competitive remuneration packages and now is a good time to revisit their hiring strategy and succession planning to ensure they retain their top talent as we head back into a growth period.
